Sep. 23rd, 2006 02:01 amSo tonight
mysquishy and I went to the Love Outside Andromeda gig at the East Brunswick Club. The band ruled, but the crowd was SO HORRIFYING. I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN EVEN ADEQUATELY DESCRIBE IT TO YOU. THIS WASTED BOGAN GIRL DIRTY DANCED AGAINST HER SEEMINGLY DISINTERESTED BOYFRIEND THE WHOLE GIG, MAKING RETARDED MOTIONS WITH HER HANDS LIKE SHE WAS AT A RAVE. AT LEAST, WE THINK HE WAS HER BOYFRIEND. I DON'T KNOW, THEY WERE UGLY. THERE WAS GRINDING, AND SHE KEPT CROUCHING LIKE SHE WAS POLE DANCING, AND GYRATING AGAINST HIM. HORRIBLE. Everyone was so blankface about it. There was like this circle of empty space around them because no-one wanted to go too close lest they catch something. About halfway through Melissa and I couldn't stand it anymore and started laughing like two year olds. SHE WAS SO EMBARRASSING. I was so horrified. We talked about it the whole tram ride home.
The crowd talked the whole time the band played. And there were these annoying drunk girls flirting with their guy friends all cutesy in their stupid shapeless emo clothes. Melissa and I plotted violence. The whole evening confirmed our misanthropy. THERE WAS THIS GROUP OF LESBIANS WHO WERE STANDING IN FRONT OF US, ONE WAS DANCING LIKE AN IDIOT AND KEPT TILTING BACK PRECARIOUSLY AND NEARLY MAKING ME SPILL MY BEER ALL OVER MYSELF. I wanted to push her over. I almost did.
The band were awesome. Sienna's voice is so incredible live, it seems impossible. I'm glad they were good (even though I've seen them before and they were awesome then too) because the band that played before them were terrible and I was standing there feeling all grumpyface that we'd paid twenty bucks to stand in an overheated room pressed up against sweaty strangers, listening to a maudlin band and watching some drunk bogan making a fool out of herself with growing horror. Her hair was so awful and nineties. I wish you guys could have been there to see it, I really do.
They didn't play Raido :(
